30-Day Book Challenge: Day 16

Day 16 - Favorite Female Character
Oh my god, this is hard to answer. I have about a dozen that I could go with, but I'm going to choose Vin from Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn.
Who's that on the cover? Only the fantastically layered Vin. Illegitimate daughter of a madwoman and a noble, she grew up on the streets, fighting to survive a barren world ruled by a cruel god-emperor. The blurb makes it sound like her mentor, Kelsier is the main character? How naive, how adorable. No. Vin learning to control and use her magic while overcoming her trust issues and accepting her femininity as she infiltrates high society. That's the plot. The battles are eye-popping, and only get more intense as the series progresses, and Vin is in the center of them. She kicks so much ass, I can't take it.
Honorable Mentions: Karou - Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Sansa Stark - ASoIAF, Katniss Everdeen - The Hunger Games, Alexia Maccon - The Parasol Protectorate Series, Alanna and Diane - The Tortall books
