Participating in the boiledleather.com AFFC/ADWD combined reread, which puts the books that were split by geographic location back in (loose) chronological order. I'll be updating with thoughts on chapters finished and since this is a reread, may contain spoilers.
Cersei I - Her alcoholism is more apparent on this reading. I think because she's a relatively recent POV character, it was harder for me to see how far she'd fallen, but this whole chapter is sad and delusional.
Tyrion I - Putting these two chapters next to each other was genius. I forgot how low Tyrion gets in this book. Not pretty, but the parallels between him and Cersei are great. Things like this are why I'll never buy into T =T. But if I have to read "Where do whores go?" again, (and I will, about a million times,) I'll scream.
Dany I - Last line is still an awesome punch. Dragons are all fun and games until someone loses a hand. Or a kid.I didn't think Dany was whiny on first read but I love her to bits. I really like her, "I'm just a young girl, but..." thing. Shows that she knows how she's perceived by the old men around her and she plays to that.
Brienne I - I got so much more out of this chapter after having read the Dunk and Egg books. If B isn't his granddaughter, I'll eat my hat.
